Winning Combination: A slot machine and a casino-themed mural bring a bit of the Las Vegas scene to this recreation area located off the foyer in a Freehold home. The homeowner visits Las Vegas often and loves to entertain, says Bruce Middleton, who painted the mural and did the woodworking for the room. The bar has diamond-patterened ebony set into bird's-eye maple panels with walnut frames. Granite tops the bar. Middleton also painted the playing card prints that hang behind the bar (above left); he used special paint to superimpose images of Rat Packers Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. that show up only under ultravbiolet light (above right).
