Bruce Middleton and Co.

Diamond Girl: Mark and Ivette Rayo of Homdel desired a soft, feminine room with longevity for their little girl.  This gave designer Bruce Middleton the idea to enclose a ten-by-eight foot alcove with a false wall and arched opening (opposite) to expand future design options.  Currently, it's a "small cozy area for a baby," but it could later serve as a stage-like setting for childhood fun or a teen enclave, Middleton says.  Wall treatments (both pages) include a multi-layer glaze above a chair rail, hand-painted diamond motifs, and Princess of Toyland renditions.  A final pearl glaze finish gives the room a soft flow that changes thought the day, Middleton says.
